• The location update you share is visible only to the respective person. Facebook or other people cannot see your location.
• WhatsApp does not share the contact list with any other apps or Facebook. WhatsApp accesses the contact only to make texting fast.
• Even groups remain private and the content is protected. It is not shared with Facebook.

Privacy update of WhatsApp business messaging

Businesses can use secure hosting services from Facebook. So, when you connect with a business by email, or phone, or through WhatsApp the content can be viewed. Further, WhatsApp uses it for marketing like advertising on Facebook. But to make sure people are aware of this, WhatsApp labels the conversations with businesses using hosting services.

If you see a business ad on Facebook and you communicate through WhatsApp then it is shared with Facebook. So, you can see more personalized ads on Facebook. In this manner, you can easily discover a business using Facebook.

With these privacy updates, WhatsApp is making it easier to chat with businesses. But the privacy policy update does not affect the personal messages.
